Marhanets is a city in the Dnipropetrovsk region that has repeatedly come under fire since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The attacks target not only military facilities but also civilian infrastructure, including water supply and sewage systems.

0%Working to Keep the Water Running #
We have received another request for ballistic protective equipment. This time, it is not for a human remains detection dog, but for eight people in the city of Marhanets in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Every single day, these eight workers use their own hands to keep the city’s water supply and sewage systems functioning despite ongoing Russian attacks. If the water supply collapses, the entire city suffers. Residents would lose access to clean water and the ability to dispose of wastewater. This would be a disaster for the entire population.

They cannot do their jobs safely from a bunker or work remotely from home. They understand just how essential a functioning water system is for the entire city, so they simply keep going. Even under fire. To help them continue their vital work for as long as possible, and to protect them from severe shrapnel injuries, they are asking for SK 4 ballistic protective vests.

Eight men who stay and carry on despite constant attacks. We are determined to support them and provide as much protection as possible. €3,800 for eight workers who have the courage to keep working under fire. Help us make sure they can continue doing so for a long time to come. Every donation helps fund the protective vests and improve their safety at work.
Challenging Logistics #
The protective vests meet the SK 4 protection standard and are therefore subject to strict export regulations. In addition to approval from Germany’s Federal Office for Economic Affairs and Export Control (BAFA), transit authorization from the Polish authorities is also required. We have already applied for the necessary permits and are awaiting approval. Once granted, the vests will be sent to Marhanets as quickly as possible.
